Welcome (back)! Since my last entry I thought it would be a great idea to introduce the leading rolls of my Creative Chaos since they are, after all, my leading roles. They keep me going everyday, literally. Whether I'm chasing them up the stairs and into the shower after the school or they're driving me crazy running laps around our coffee table. This is just as much about them as it is about me.
Without further ado....
Darling Husband (also known as DH)- played by none other than my husband himself. We met 14 years ago working at Target, we had both graduated high school and were in relationships at that time. But after numerous conversations, life events, and work related "teamwork" outings, he finally asked me out. YAY!
Fast forward 9 years... a wedding, house and some traveling here and there, it is time to introduce:
Thing 1. She is my everything. My little girl that I wasn't sure I would ever have. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was nearly through my entire first trimester when a trip to the ER changed our lives. I learned within that visit that I was not only pregnant, but with twins. Unfortunately, her twin did not survive and there isn't a day where I don't think about the "what if". There are days where I look at her and tears well up just wondering...oh my "tough cookie". She is now 5 (going on 17) and started Kindergarten in August. I can't believe how time has passed. She's such a "girly girl" and trust me, I LOVE everything about that.
Thing 2. He is oh, SO special. Born just 2 years after his sister he is a boy by every means of the definition. Rambunctious and loud. He's my little firecracker, but he loves his mama. There is nothing better when he comes up and hugs my leg when I'm washing dishes or dive-bombs on top of me when I'm sitting on the couch. He's a lover. And he loves the kitchen. A man of my own heart. He's going to make some girl REALLY happy one day. A cuddler who can cook? Amazing!
Thing 3. My little man. He's coming up on 2 and a spitting image of his brown haired, chocolate eye sister. Unlike his brother, he is SO chill. He'll keep himself occupied but loves the chaos his siblings bring to his day. He's such a character and constantly gives me a reason to laugh!
There you have it, the playbill of my life. In time their unique stories and traits will all come out, pinky promise. Until then, get your non-stick (or non non-stick) skillet ready! It's dinnertime. We're doing our own take on a Rachael Ray (one of my FAVES) one dish dinner. Pasta + fennel + mussels= DELISIOUSNESS. I will be posting step by step pictures (and instructions) for you. The kids absolutely love this dish! (They eat the mussels before they even touch the pasta!) Who would have thought?!
XO,
Melissa
